I want to tell you who I am and what I do, because I want to be your doula.

My name is Vicky Gonzalez and I’m from Barcelona. I’m a mother of three children born in 2005, 2007 and 2011, in three very different ways. My first child came to the world by caesarean section, the second was a vaginal birth in a clinic and the third was born at home with a specialized midwife.

Despite being licensed and an MBA graduate in Business Management at ESADE and having worked for over 10 years in the marketing sector for various organizations, in 2009 I was trained as a doula at Mares Doules.

I want to tell you who I am and what I do, because I want to be your doula.

Years later, I graduated with a degree in Psychology from UDIMA and completed a postgraduate qualification in Perinatal Psychology at URV (Rovira i Virgili University), as well as earning the Expert Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy, Trauma, and Attachment with EMDR from UDIMA. My professional registration number is 28904.

As a result, I embarked on specific training in lactation and hypopressive gymnastics. I then continued my training with Núria Vives in her “Childbirth and Movement” program.

I speak fluent English, French (I’m married to a Frenchman) and my languages, Castilian and Catalan.

Being a doula is my passion. I’m doing what I really feel I should do, I feel complete accompanying other women during the first time of THEIR maternity. My goal is to ACCOMPANY each mother in her own experience, from impartiality and respect. I don’t intend to impose a point of view, but I offer all the necessary information so that each woman and family can choose what they feel most comfortable with, without judgment.

IN ALL THESE YEARS I’VE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF SUPPORTING MORE THAN 1000 COUPLES AND HAVE TAKEN PART IN ALMOST 300 BIRTHS. TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM, I THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE.

IN ALL THESE YEARS I’VE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF SUPPORTING MORE THAN 600 COUPLES AND HAVE TAKEN PART IN ALMOST 100 BIRTHS. TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM, I THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE.

When we give birth, we live through the first time in which we are very vulnerable.

My work as a doula consists of caring, empowering and support from my experience with all my love.
